ENMU’s Affordability Helped Two Students Dreams Come True!

Anthropology Major Cash Ficke chose ENMU for it affordability and convenience…
One of EMNU’s countless success stories is Cash Ficke who is working toward an ungraduated degree in anthropology with an emphasis in archaeology.  He relates that ENMU was his first choice for its affordability, and now as a student, he cites one of best parts of his experience has been the one-on-one interactions with the faculty.  Cash’s interest in anthropology began with a trip to Egypt during high school with his beloved grandmother where he discovered a passion for archaeology. 
In addition to our undergraduate anthropology program, ENMU has offered a nationally recognized master’s degree in anthropology for over four decades.  The program prepares students for a career in public or private archaeology or to pursue a doctoral degree.  
Online Program Helped Dennis Gruba to get his Aviation Science Degree
Dennis Gruba, who has worked for years as a helicopter mechanic, is looking forward to this December when he will walk across the stage to receive his diploma in Aviation Science.  As an online student, he is also looking forward to enjoying the atmosphere of ENMU’s campus. Dennis says that he will be glad to put to rest some of his sibling rivalries after a "35-year-long summer break," by attaining his college degree as all of his siblings have done.

Two ENMU Graduates Discuss Student Support Services


Student success is a key part of Eastern New Mexico University’s mission. Student’s benefit from small class sizes, supportive counselors, and accomplished professors as well as a myriad of student support services offered by the university. For many students, these unparalleled support services were crucial in achieving a successful outcome. In this post, we’ll highlight the support experiences of two recent graduates from ENMU’s College of Business.
Kylie Katalinich ’17 – Business Administration
For Kylie, graduating from ENMU was the happiest day of her life. After battling with the emotional challenge of losing her uncle, aunt, and mother while studying at ENMU, Kylie turned to the school’s support system for help. In a recent piece for ENMU student success news, Kyle talks about how she leveraged the community to get her to graduation day. "So many professors and colleagues were understanding and helpful during some trying moments of my life," Kylie stated. She later goes on to list some of her biggest supporters, "College of Business, the College of Fine Arts, the Department of Languages and Literature and Susan Larson, the director of Counseling and Career Services."
Jerome Aguilar ’17 – Business Administration
Jerome’s ENMU experience was no straight line. Jerome worked hard to complete his first three years at ENMU, but he struggled and left ENMU after his third year. Eventually, with the support of his community, family, and staff at ENMU, Jerome returned to complete his business degree. He recalled in an ENMU news report, "I chose ENMU because the people here care about my success," said Jerome.  "From recruiters to instructors, everyone is here to help you get to where you want to be." Jerome now hopes to earn his MBA from ENMU and start his own business someday.

Three Online Bachelor Programs That Offer Diverse Career Options

Two Ways to Earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation


Eastern New Mexico University is committed to providing flexible educational offerings to help students from all backgrounds receive the best training possible. In continuing faith of that effort, Eastern is offering two ways for students to earn a bachelor’s degree in aviation science.
Bachelor of Science (BS)
The Bachelor of Science in Aviation Science undergraduate degree offered by ENMU is the ideal choice for prospective students who want a more traditional liberal arts curriculum. The program includes courses on aircraft construction, aviation law, aviation safety and airport operations as well as management and FAA regulations. Overall, the program requires 33 hours of aviation science technology credits and 22 hours of other required courses. Designed to blend technical mastery with aviation science and business theory, this degree prepares students to work in a variety of aviation-related fields.
Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science (BAAS)
Alternatively, students interested in aviation may choose to enroll in the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science in Aviation Science. As an applied science degree, it is ideal for students with existing aviation credits, an Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences (AAS), or an existing FAA license. The Eastern New Mexico University BAAS program in aviation science is comprised of 22 credit hours of aviation science courses and 22 credit hours of general program courses. No matter which program you choose, ENMU is dedicated to providing students with ample faculty and staff support to help them achieve their career goals. Additionally, financial aid is available to students in need; over 80% of Eastern New Mexico University students are receiving some kind of financial assistance.
