The Certified Financial Planning® designation is only awarded to professionals who meet an incredibly rigorous set of requirements. The certification, noted as exemplifying the highest standard of personal financial planning and advice, is the gold standard for financial consultants. To become a certified financial planner, one must also demonstrate a mastery of personal and corporate finance, investing, insurance, banking and more. Eastern New Mexico University offers students an incredibly affordable opportunity to become a certified financial planner in as little as two years. ENMU’s financial planning certificate program is a comprehensive 21 credit program designed to prepare students to sit for the Certified Financial Planning® examination. The curriculum includes courses on estate planning, tax planning, investment principles, personal finance, risk management, financial planning, and retirement planning.

The PFP certificate program is available as an emphasis for existing undergraduate students, a certificate program, and as a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences concentration area.
